About me:

Currently I am teaching classes in World Literature and composition. My usual courses include World Mythology, World Literature, Composition & Rhetoric, and Business & Professional Writing. I also have taught Spanish language courses at various levels, as well as classes on short fiction, modernist and postmodern poetry, and comparative media.

As a scholar, my research interests are varied: modernist and experimental poetry, Latin American poetry, Inter-American literature, comparative media, translation, ecocriticism, and literary urbanism. My work commonly brings together material in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

After growing up in Kansas City, I have lived in Madrid, Quito, Lima, Poughkeepsie, Seward, New Brunswick, and now St. Louis, Missouri. I like to think that what I do in the classroom and in my research carries a bit of each of these places within it.
